A high quality viticulture based on low yields per hectare, maximum respect for the environment, through techniques and products of organic cultivation, precision wine making and excellence in the harvest. To guarantee this commitment, we submit each stage of creation to the most rigorous control. Because excellence is never the product of chance.
Somontano, a unique terroir
Having a continental Mediterranean climate and scarce annual rainfall, the land of Somontano is characterized by limestone and rocky soils, with the presence of gypsum in some cases, and a sandy loam texture. Also, the significant temperature difference between day and night during summer contributes to a slow, optimal ripening of the grapes. Therefore, a climate of contrasts, soils with sandy-loam textures of exceptional quality and pure meltwater from the Pyrenees make Somontano a unique environment for viticulture. In these lands, ENATE’s viticulture team grows six varieties of grapes, four red and two white, with the goal of transmitting the unique personality of each one of them, giving rise to great wines, with an outstanding aging potential.
Vineyard, Design, and Winemaking
ENATE understands the winery as the tangible meeting point between vineyard work and human creativity. Since its founding in 1991, its purpose has been to craft wines of outstanding quality under the Somontano Designation of Origin and to convey the full character of this exceptional landscape. Its approach combines contemporary design and advanced technology with deep-rooted winemaking traditions. The result is a range of wines that faithfully reflect each grape variety and their place of origin. All wines are shaped from the vineyard onward, with varietal expression at the core and a consistent focus on balance and elegance.
Wines
ENATE wines are the faithful reflection of Somontano terroir, and the best expression of the varieties grown in these lands. Winemaking tradition and technology come together to shape their identity: art inside and outside each bottle, allowing us to offer a wide range of wines adapted to all styles. The essence of ENATE, enclosed in every drop, printed on every label, is enjoyed in every glass. Its quality, our identity, is unalterable.
Chardonnay barrel-fermented
100% Oaked chardonnay. A true flagship of the winery that exudes a magnificent balance between fruit and oak, showing the significance of an impeccable blend of the lees and its ageing in barrels. A wine that always rises to the podium of the great Spanish wines. Exuberant and complex aromas reveal a tantalizing blend of varietal characteristics such as hazelnut and toasted bread; tropical fruits, including pineapple and grapefruit, and hints of toasted oak from the barrel aging. On the palate, it is mouth-filling and creamy as it opens up beautifully with a fresh acidity that finishes in an extraordinarily long finish, where toasted nuances reappear.

Chardonnay 234
100% Unoaked chardonnay. This wine is the result of a well thought out project that breaks away from the traditionally fragile image that many Spanish white wines carry. Pale yellow in colour with a silvery green sheen. Complex and intense varietal aromas reveal green apple, ripe peach, fennel and exotic fruit (guava and passion fruit) against a subtle mineral background. Full and unctuous on the palate yet clean and fresh due to lively acidity. A light honeyed finish leaves a lingering impression.

Gewürztraminer
100% Unoaked chardonnay. This 100% Gewürztraminer is exuberant, packed with honeyed and floral notes. On the palate, it is unctuous and velvety, with aromas of rose and spice standing out. The tasting experience is rounded off by a silky texture and a mouth-filling finish. When preserved under suitable conditions, its evolution in bottle is magnificent over several years, with its aromatic range becoming enriched and gaining in complexity. Perfect to enjoy on a summer terrace or paired with an oriental cuisine dish.

Crianza
70% Tempranillo – 30% Cabernet sauvignon. This wine can be defined as the most characteristic Spanish wine amongst Enate’s portfolio, given that its composition is based on Tempranillo, Spain’s most well-known grape. The Cabernet Sauvignon makes an important contribution to the wine’s structure and the overall effect is hugely flattering. The many alluring aromas highlight the wine’s skilful ability to combine power and delicacy. Deep cherry red in colour. Intense and complex nose with rich smoky and spicy aromas emerging from a background of ripe red fruit. Well-structured tannins contribute to a mouth-filling meatiness on the palate and an extraordinarily long finish reveals delicate, lingering toasted nuances.

Reserva
100% Cabernet sauvignon. By combining ancestral techniques with the most avant-garde ones, we have succeeded in producing a Reserva which, in addition to being a balanced wine, has great potential for bottle ageing. Deep garnet colour. On the nose, the wine displays a wide and complex aromatic range: wild aromas (blackberry, redcurrant) and compote, and balsamic (mint) notes with a subtle spicy background (vanilla, pepper, bay leaf). Structured mouthfeel; the palate is covered with high-quality tannins. Long finish, with hints of toast and blond tobacco.

Cabernet-Merlot
50% Cabernet sauvignon – 50% Merlot. A wine with a cosmopolitan character, easy to drink. Its bouquet, in which the varietal character predominates over the tertiary bouquets of ageing, and its velvety tannins make it a wine designed for all audiences. Intense ruby colour. A complex blackcurrant and blackberry aroma with a touch of violet and hints of red pepper, vanilla and herbs. Smooth and round mouthfeel; the soft tannic cushion gives way to a flavoursome palate which releases pleasant honey and roasted aromas. The well-balanced acidity will ensure improvement in the bottle over the next five years.

Rosado
100% Cabernet sauvignon. A rosée with the soul of white and the body of a red, created to play and win in the Champions League. The Cabernet Sauvignon, cultivated with meticulous care in Enate’s vineyards until reaching optimum ripeness, expresses its full potential in this monocépage wine. Intensely fruity on the nose, revealing aromas of blueberry, raspberry, and pepper. The first sensation is one of mouth-filling meatiness; yet, thanks to its beautifully balanced acidity, it develops into a lively and easy-drinking wine. Its evolution is magnificent and is rounded off with a long, flavoursome finish and lingering varietal aromas.
